  • We toured Omodos (UNESCO) village. Our tour guide, Sylvia, this is her home town. You could sense how proud she was to show her town to us. We visited the Timios Stavros/Timipu Starou Monastery (Churc...  more »
  • Must visit this church if you are in Omodos or at the area. unique heritage of Cyprus and Christianity.
  • We had bought a tour titled "KOPIASTE" means welcome. This ride has allowed us to discover this small village of Omodos so the monastery! that is superb! (bare arms and knees must not be apparent... where given to the entrance of covering clothing). The floor, made with stones around the monastery is slippery and difficult for seniors to access... but it's doable! The stalls are many offering wines, laces, embroideries and other specialities including asphalt of carob syrup a mixture of almonds, peanut, cashew, pomegranate, honey, Sesame (a pure delight...!). the visit was too short which is a shame but, we saw and have great memories of this site!

  • A wonderful monastery, located in one of Cyprus most scenic villages.
  • Nice monastery interesting history and nice museums
  • Love this place
  • Beautiful monastery and the beautiful church inside. The skull of St. Philip and rope which was bound the body of the Lord to the cross on the spot. Opens the Church as I figured out in 9:00. Visit free of charge. The place comfortable toilets.
