  • For those who cross the border to visit the Turkish side of Nicosia, this bazaar is entertaining and certainly worth seeing. My daughter bought two, made-in-Turkey pashmina scarves at a reasonable pri...  more »
  • Bandabulya Municipal Market is North Cyprus's old town district. Cross point is about a 5-minute walk away. Visited Sunday the market itself was on hiatus. The best cat roams.

  • Its a small bazar in an old building. All tourist goods. Why not take a look if you are there but if you miss it you won't have missed much. We bought some Turkish delight.  more »

  • Construction of the Bandabuliya started in 1930, and it was opened two years later in 1932. The bazaar housed everything from greengrocers to butchers and fishmongers. Population increase, and the movement towards the outskirts of Nicosia, forced shopping centres to be closer to the new settlement areas. The closure of roads leading to Turkish parts of the city in 1958, lead to a further decline. Recent years have seen a revival of trade, and this historic bazaar is still a superb market for fresh vegetables and meat, as well as Turkish souvenirs. It as mainly frequented by local shoppers, so any visitor can get a taste of shopping in the old city.
  • Traditional and layered with history market. We enjoyed the Lokum (Turkish Delight) shop very much. I believe it is currently undergoing renovations to expand and restore it to its former full glory. Would like to see it again when this is done.
  • Not only fresh vegetables and local products. Best place for souvenirs, bio products, special liquors and cremes
  • Nostalgia..history.. Love it
  • nothing to see here. skip it and go to the nearby khan or street mall.
