  • This museum is superb, a definite must-see in Nicosia. The other museums can be a bit old-fashioned but this one is amazing! The building is beautifully lit and it's very clear where you have to go, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The collections are just perfect - not too much, and only the highlights. Great interpretive materials available. Also a tiny shop with some nice post-cards. Definitely go here!
  • Beautiful space, superb collection, lovely staff and not too busy so you can really take in the art
  • Excellent gallery , Photography section could be improved .
  • Mainly modern paintings. Fewer contemporary pieces of art. The building is quite nice.
  • Excellent collection!

Where to stay in Nicosia

Despite being the country's capital, Nicosia is not as geared toward tourists as the resorts on Cyprus' sunny coast. Hotels tend to be geared toward business travelers but provide a comfortable stay. Renting a vacation apartment may be preferable option for many, as they enable you to live more like locals. The greater Nicosia area spreads far and wide, so stay near the old city to access the most popular attractions, bars, and restaurants on foot. For an economical option, look for lodging on the north side of the city.
