Wander into Ancient Roman and Byzantine ruins at Kourion for a look at the remains of houses, monuments, markets, baths, and an intact 3,500-seat theater. Although the site had been inhabited in Neolithic times from five millennia BCE, the town is believed to date back to the 13th century BCE. It supported an uprising against Persia in the 4th century BCE and was used by Alexander the Great. See mosaic floors from the 3rd and 4th centuries CE, private residences of the rich dating back to the 4th and 5th centuries CE, and a 5th century CE early Christian basilica at the site. What a wonderful find, if you are into history then this is the place to go. The information boards are full of detail with English translations. I knocked it down a star as I think they are missing a trick in not having a cafe/restaurant, we spent a few hours there but had to leave as the group was getting hungry, we would have loved to stay longer if we could have eaten there.

Great location. Apparently Achilles lives here. There is a beautiful Theater in a great state. It’s was really hot so we’re not able to see everything in detail. Interesting to see all the different ages this location has see from the Greek to Romans and later Byzantine churches.

Beautiful place to admire history! The views are spectacular specially with you get there on the end of the day. Some walk is required but nothing strenuous bring some water it is kind of hot. Entrance was €4.50 and parking was free.

Wow wow wow... Mind blowing. You can just see where my husband is sat, right at the top in the centre? I was stood in the centre of the Amphitheatre and spoke in a normal speaking voice. He could hear me word perfect, as clear as if I was sitting right next to him. Like, how? How did they build it so perfectly? Amazing experience.

Pretty cool Roman amphitheater. Fairly easy walking. Most of the trails are concrete. This has been reconstructed using stone from excavations and modern stone. The views of the Mediterranean Sea from here are spectacular!! This is part of the Kourion Archaeological Site.
