Ancient Shipwreck Museum, Kyrenia
(4.2/5 based on 280+ reviews on the web)
Ancient Shipwreck Museum preserves the remains of a 4th-century BCE sea vessel and its cargo, reputedly the oldest shipwreck known to man. According to scientific estimations, the ship sailed for 80 years before it foundered. Lying 30 m (98 ft) under the sea surface, this merchant ship concealed great wealth. View 75 percent of the ship's preserved body and browse through objects such as wine amphorae from Rhodes, jars filled with perfectly preserved almonds, and various kitchen utensils. Read stories of the ship's history and see photographs of the salvage expedition that took place between 1967 and 1969. • It's leg printing, to see this old ship. One can therefore imagine how important was at the time of the trade.

  • The Maritime Museum is located in the premises of the Castle, in the price of admission. Boat lovers are excited about the wreck of the ship from the fourth century BC. The wreck is hermetically closed and space on a tour around is not very large, there is a queue.

  • For those who wanted to see the ship age more 2000 years. Probably not even the ship itself. And feel the atmosphere. Imagine ancient Greeks on these ships ... Recommend.
