Blue Lagoon, Ayia Napa

4.7
#2 of 6 in Theme Parks in Famagusta District
Named in 2012 as one of National Geographic's “25 Wonders of the World," Blue Lagoon has evolved from its infancy as a reservoir of geothermal runoff into a world of geothermal wonder.

The unique properties of its waters provide not only an enchanting lagoon experience, but also the patented, active ingredients in Blue Lagoon skin care: silica, algae, and minerals.

Blue Lagoon is located in a sprawling, 800 year old lava field in the heart of the Reykjanes Peninsula – a UNESCO Geopark. Just 20 minutes from Keflavík International Airport and 50 minutes from Reykjavík, Blue Lagoon is simultaneously remote and easily accessible.

  • Cyprus twice and both times were captivated by this place! It is impossible to see. Walk to it do not even try to get.

  • Breathtaking view. There are few benches where you can sit and rest. Swimming is impossible because of rocks (I did not find a way to enter the water) but being there is great enough. Worth seeing
  • Fantastic beauty. However, it really depends on the weather. On a stormy day there's no way one can swim there because of the rocks. On a quiet day the water is translucent, a real treat. If you go by bus prepare to walk a lot on deserted trails in the sun.
  • Very beautiful place. The place is often visited by tourists so there could be rush at times. Best is to visit early in the day. The area is good for taking a swim in the ocean or lazing around. Preferably have a rented vehicle if you are planning a visit to this place as approaching it otherwise can be difficult. Also have fresh seafood on some of the nearby taverns
  • Very beautifull place, the worst thing is that this lagoon doesnt have very good shore so its a little bit difficult to get in the water. Its a long walk to this place butbif you have a car you will always find a place where to leave your car. Underwater looks amazing. I reccomend to come here and dive in the small heaven
  • Great place to visit an easy drive away from Ayia Napa with parking just 50 meters away from the stairs good g down to the water. Lots of fishes to see under the water and the water is very clear compared to the beach can easily see 10 meters under water. However as there is coral every where please be careful with your feet and the corals. Take your trash with you as well so lots of others can enjoy it as well. Just to note the party boats come around 2pm to 430pm with loud music so go before or after.
