The country house is, of course, restored but in fairly original condition and the Tula museum is located here. It gives a picture of how it was lived in this very delicate period in the history of Netherlands and especially from the perspective of the slaves. We had a very good guide and she could tell a lot about the daily business and she has nav questions on our part eea told about the slaves revolt on this plantation by Tula was started. What struck us is that there are so very many original stuff from that era have been preserved and that for such a small island. E.g. in Memphis (United States) and also in Charleston are slavery museums, but the real artifacts are there often but limited. If you want to understand something of Curacao and remind himself how it got there, then this museum really recommend!show original

Actually we came specially for Tula, the slave who revolted against slavery from this plantation. About him and his fight was no information. The upper floor and restaurant are not accessible due to renovations. Entrance was not pricey (7.50 NAF per 12 +) the guide spoke Dutch and gave a clear tour of the small museum and sang 2 sample songs.show original
