Curacao Sea Aquarium, Curacao
(3.3/5 based on 950+ reviews on the web)
Head to Curacao Sea Aquarium for a fun and informative day out with the family. Interact with sea lions, and observe dolphins undertaking incredible acrobatics. Take the little ones to the touch pool, where they can feel star fish and rays, or dive and snorkel to hand-feed sharks, turtles, and manta rays. The habitats here mimic the animals' natural environments as closely as possible, with ocean water circulating the enclosures, and sealed off bay areas for the larger mammals. You can see most of the relatively small aquarium in a few hours.. • If you walk over the bridge towards sea aquarium and then watch the anchor the handrail of chains to the boat visit on this clean park

  • Some aquariums where empty and the dolphin show is over in a few minutes. A little disappointing and too expensive for what they offer.
  • We have been here with our son of 5. Found it all giant interesting. Especially the nurse shark that he was allowed to pet them and feed them. At the bottom of the boat where you can watch the sharks and rays and other large fish that swim by is also a success. And the flamingos feed them. To swim with dolphins, he is still too young and only nearby stand with a supervisor became something too pricey ....

  • Enjoyed the dolphins and sea lions and other marine creatures. Enjoyed feeding the fish. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Not a lot of healthy food options though.
  • A bit worn down and the staff are all about selling. But its a nice place to visit with kids.
  • This is my 2nd time in Curaçao & this time I stayed at the Royal Sea Aqaurium where I've had the great pleasure of watching the sea lion & dolphin shows & training sessions from my balcony. The Sea Aqaurium is somewhat limited in indoor displays compared to other top notch aqauriums that I've been to in NY, Boston, & California, but & this is a big but, the Aqaurium is fully integrated with the open ocean. As a matter of fact, I've watched the staff take the dolphins out for their daily swim in the ocean. And, the dolphins always come back to the aquarium voluntarily ;) Also, while a little lacking in 'fish' displays, one can see lemon sharks, nurse sharks, turtles, rays, & deep sea creatures. Additionally, the trainers are very informative and the staff is friendly. I also wanted to touch on 2 other topics: the expense of add-ons & the morality of keeping animals in captivity. Yes the aqaurium has many extra options such as kissing dolphins and sea lions, swimming with the dolphins. They are all expensive. Guess what? Running an aqaurium is very expensive. The animals have to get fed & humans have to get paid in both high & low seasons, busy days & slow days & there is a lot of maintenance involved. As far as the animals being in captivity, this issue often bothers me too. What is the greatest threat to animals? Man & without these types of facilities, man wouldn't appreciate these wondrous creatures & fight to save them. Plus, this aqaurium is beautifully integrated with the ocean and there is plenty of space for all the animals to roam. I've observed the trainers for a week & they have shown the utmost care & devotion to their training partners. Would the Dolphins be happier in the wild? I don't know but they look pretty content to me.
  • Pricy but enough to see. Fun dolphin and see lion show, and I also really liked the - look underwater boat - where you can look at lemmon sharks, stingrays and other big and small fish.
  • A little expensive and a little outdated. Central aquariums are showing their age. Still enjoyed our trip their with the family. Information next to each aquarium was well written and informative enough for our kids. The selection of fish were all interesting to us. Dolphin show was well done with four trainers all working at the same time with multiple dolphins. Sea Lion show also decent. Underwater viewing ship was a nice break from the heat and fun to watch both the fish and the snorkelling tourists in the water.
