1.6/5 based on 1,100+ reviews on the web
Observe the massive Mural de la Prehistoria, painted under the direction of artist Leovigildo Gonzalez between 1959 and 1962. Impressive in size, the painting is 200 m by 300 m (660 ft by 990 ft). To create this work, painters hung from the top of the rock and listened as Leovigildo belted out instructions over a microphone. The result is a vividly colored depiction of prehistoric life, which may not astound you in the artistic sense, but will stun you with its sheer size and the effort put in to create something on such a grand scale. • Was drawn by architects before painting, and Fedal Castro commissioned it. The guides told me all this
  • I really expected more from this. Good to see but don't expect to be wowed. If you're short on time in Vinales you may want to skip this one.

  • This thing proves someone in Cuba has a sense of humor ...and if you pay 3 CUC to see it the joke's on you. You can see it and its gaudy grandeur clearly from the road. It's worth a drive by gawk and that's about it. Unless, of coarse you're looking to use a restroom.
  • Frankly I think the mural is pretty terrible and have no idea what the various artists were thinking but if you find yourself here keep walking the 800 metres following the sign to the viewpoint and take in the views. That makes it worth visiting here.
  • A really nice place to ride with your bike to. They charge money for entrance but you can ask to get in just to take pics.
  • You can see the paintings from the road, and the valley is much nicer than the paintings..
  • The Murales is not here, but 5km on the other side fo the city.
