Valle de los Ingenios, Trinidad

Wildlife Area
See where the town of Trinidad made its money during a visit to Valle de los Ingenios, a network of three interconnected valleys located 8 km (5 mi) to the east of town. During the 19th century, the valleys were home to over 50 sugar cane mills, and the ruins of the estates that built up around them can still be seen today. Some of the most impressive, preserved sites include bell towers and warehouses, slave quarters and manor houses. Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1988, the valley's natural landscape and slowly decaying colonial sites combine well to form atmospheric and evocative scenes. Put Valle de los Ingenios and other Trinidad attractions into our Trinidad vacation generator, and watch your holiday take shape.

  • A very Green Valley, fields of sugar cane, and many remains of sugar mills. A nice walk in the Cuban countryside and the discovery of a superb Manaca Iznaga tower to take beautiful photos of the entire Valley.

  • First, some tourism offices will offer seminars organised in the Valley since Trinidad for about 50 CUC off meal. It useless and it's too expensive. The train costs 15 Cuc(A/R), 1 or 2 Cuc, the entrances to the sites. On the journey by train, it's very touristy, not at all green and yet it has a side nice and obsolete. The train will make 2 stops, to the terminus, an abandoned sugar factory, I advise you to use your free time to draw to the next village (10 minutes walk), to return the train stops at Manaca Iznaga, a sort of colonial property with its famous and famous Tower. I will soon propose a discovery video on my site. It is actually very touristy but as always move away a little and go behind. In the end it's rather a nice ride that can serve as a rest day, or stand a little foot.

  • To get there, you can take the little tourist train from Trinidad. I hired a taxi as I wanted to be flexible to explore the valley. Recommendable.
  • Very nice to do by train - as cubatur to book a ticket (15CUC) if you don't feel doing it yourself at the station, very small (10CUC apparently)
  • Great valley in the surroundings of Trinidad
  • Beautiful Vally
  • Nice Trip from Trinidad by Train
