Salto del Caburni, Trinidad
(4.4/5 based on 460+ reviews on the web)
Venture into Cuba’s Parque Natural Topes de Collantes and visit the cascading Salto del Caburni. Start the 7 km (4.4 mi) round-trip hike by heading downhill through lush forest; you'll encounter distinctive rock outcroppings and canyon-like cliff faces before you reach the waterfall. Watch as the water cascades over rocks into a natural swimming pool at its base, which attracts hearty souls willing to brave the chilly water. Pack lots of water, as your walk back is entirely uphill. Falls are smaller during the dry season. Be advised that there is a fee for the hike. Put Salto del Caburni at the forefront of your travel plans using our Trinidad family vacation planner.

  • not great for 4 hours of riding in the Sun also predict pants and especially a CAP!

  • An incredible environment, a pond with waterfall bathing paradise, but a rise only suitable for people in shape. They charge 10 CUC to enter

  • It is true that it is a bit expensive, the entrance to the excursion are 10CUC per person, but it is something that is not many times in life and can enjoy a lot, nature at its purest. The route is of medium intensity, but heat and humidity make it somewhat more tired, the bad thing is that the slope is to the ida and climb on the way back, that you start very cool but when these half way already come to sweat a lot. More or less in the middle there is a coat of limestone with minicascadas where we refresh the back. For me is of the best experiences I've had in cuba, the way is awesome, the waterfall between the rocks is super nice and swim in this pool of ice-cold water something unique. I understand that the people that did not like not like hiking, would simply happen to cascade 4 photos and that's it. But if you enjoy the road and nature, the lizards, the streams, bugs... is wonderful. It all depends on tastes and expectations of each one, that if physics is needed somehow because it is cansda.

  • you need some fitness for the 500 metres down and climb at 30 ° C and 100% humidity, it is almost alone taking a bath under the waterfall
