4.4/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web
In the heart of the city stands Iglesia Parroquial Mayor del Espiritu Santo, the biggest church in Cuba. Towering over the plaza, the church features a simplistic Neo-classical façade with cracked paint and stains around its edges. Inside the church contains an impressive 18th-century wooden statue of Christ "El Señor de la Vera Cruz," which serves as a culturally important monument of the city. Notice the grand white arches that support the church's high ceilings and a mahogany alter lavished with decoration at the end of the hall. • Lovely old church standing at the top of Plaza Mayor. Not much to see inside and it's free but donations are welcome. Worth a look even if it's to get out of the blazing sun.
  • Small garden in front of this church. Everything is superb. It's heaven on Earth. People are always smiling. A day that you can't forget.
