  • In the late afternoon we venture through the streets of Santiago Tivoli until reaching the Escalera Padre Pico. This piece evokes the classic image of a city of the Caribbean, colorful walls and stairs that descend to the sea: a beautiful panoramic view. In Cuba they love both domino that chess and it is common to see small groups playing on the street. I stop and look around and take some photography and their pride, make a little show to be noticed. From a side road suddenly appears a female figure all dressed in white, is a santera; is a beautiful mulatto woman tall and slender, elegantly walks by holding the open umbrella (white of course), a fascinating insight into.

  • This staircase is wonderful. We were housed in this street at the Casa Roma, (perfect for a fabulous stay) down the stairs we were going to the historic centre in 10 minutes. The houses that borders are either and colorful

  • Long series of steps lined with old houses, a pretty place but Cuba has dozens of such streets -with or without steps.  more »
