Cayo Levisa, Pinar del Rio Province

3.6
#6 of 9 in Parks in Pinar del Rio Province
Known for its black coral, Cayo Levisa invites you to its white sands and crystal clear waters for some fun in the sun. An abundance of palm trees and beach chairs line the sands, providing plenty of space to kick back in the shade as you take in views of the Gulf of Mexico. With some luck, you can find exotic marine life such as starfish as you snorkel or dive in the island’s calm waters. Retreat to one of the beachside bungalows or grab a bite and drink at one of the many eateries located on the island. • After a 20 minute ferry ride you arrive at this gorgeous beach which you can walk most of the way around. It is simply beautiful. There is dining and a place to change.  more »
  • We visited during a day sow flight of Viñales in Cayo Levisa. Usually one is faced with the decision of Cayo Levisa or Cayo Jutías. If you have enough time, the solution is quite clear: both! We cannot say even in hindsight, one would have liked us better of the two. Both beaches are just fantastic, with fine white sand, shimmering blue green water, in that you at times loosely into it can Wade 50-70 m! Perhaps the sand is Cayo Levisa is still a tiny bit whiter, anyway he hides without sunglasses in the eyes. The drive is shorter in the case of Cayo Levisa (1 h vs. 2 hrs at Cayo Jutías), but it is still the 45-minute ferry ride. The price of passage are the rent for Sun beds and parasol and a (but really cave bad!) Lunch included. With 35 CUC, the crossing is expensive paid, but for the beach it is worth!

You can find accommodations on almost every street in Vinales. The most popular area to stay within the town is along Calle Adela Azcuy Norte, which leads to the entrance of the nearby national park.
