Cayo Levisa, Pinar del Rio Province

4.0
#4 of 9 in Nature in Pinar del Rio Province
Island · Nature / Park
Known for its black coral, Cayo Levisa invites you to its white sands and crystal clear waters for some fun in the sun. An abundance of palm trees and beach chairs line the sands, providing plenty of space to kick back in the shade as you take in views of the Gulf of Mexico. With some luck, you can find exotic marine life such as starfish as you snorkel or dive in the island’s calm waters. Retreat to one of the beachside bungalows or grab a bite and drink at one of the many eateries located on the island. • Well Cayo Levisa is one of many places in Cuba where the Cubans can’t visit. Yes I know it’s incredibly, but this is the communism... At the beginning of the Cuban revolution, Fidel didn’t let the...  more »

  • Beautiful beach with loads of tiny crabs.
  • Beach is beautiful, lovely water. But to get here you have to get a ferry which is 35 CUC pp (35$ each approx) you get a nice lunch and a water or soft drink. You can spend the day here but it is expensive better stay in an airbnb nearby 10 min walk from the port (we stayed in villa gustavo y mary and it was ace!)
  • The Beach is great. Unfortunaltely the rooms are not as clean as expected and some of the facilities are decayed. I did not expect luxury rooms as in USA or Europe, but a clean floor, mold free rooms and clean towels is a minimum requirement to get good review. Despite the negative things the place is good to relax for a few days.
  • Lovely beach with limited access by the ferry (1 per day) so it's pleasantly quiet. Separation of zones between the hotel guests and the day trip tourists. Buffet for day trip tourist was ok. If you book the day trip from vinales with buffet lunch is 47 CUC per person. You could also choose a "lunch box" instead with around 33 CUC.
  • Wonderful white sandy beach to get some rest and recreation. Hotel service could be more friendly
