  • The stadium is in a bit of disrepair and leaving game 7 of the semi finals was challenging with few open exits and teeming people. Also, the bathrooms are typical of Cuba. I wish we brought our travel...  more »
  • The estadio Victoria de Giron, Matanzas, located at the end of the avenida Martín Dihigo, is a facility that is jewel of Cuban sport. It is the home of crocodiles, though right now they lost in the semi final of national baseball series, already recovering for the next baseball season. It was in Matanzas where for the first time in Cuba was played baseball and the tradition it enjoy athletes and fans alike. It is a beautiful facility, delicacy, always cared for and adorned for competitions. Great prices, good gastronomic service in the surroundings of the stadium, and above all, good security for those who go to enjoy the ball game. I recommend it as a place of excellence in the city known as the Athens of Cuba. The sport is also culture. Thank you

  • The number one team in the league, very good quality players, super fans and only 3 pesos to sit in the best seats. I agree the stadium could use some TLC.
  • The atmosphere itself was amazing! It is really different from watching baseball in North America as it was always loud - I really appreciated it. The stadium is old and is in need of upgrades, but it doesn't take away from the experience of watching Cuba's official sport. There are very few vendors selling snacks and sandwiches inside the stadium, but the good food and souvenirs are located outside the stadium. You are best to purchase prior to entering. Also, there is no alcohol sold or consumed inside the stadium; again it's all done outside.
  • Fun and loud atmosphere. Facilities are quite run down
  • The previous name was palmar de junco. I played ball when boy with José (Cheito) Cardenai. I choto wine to play major league baseball.
