Vedado, Havana
(4.1/5 based on 460+ reviews on the web)
Soak up Cuban life at Vedado, a modern, upscale neighborhood of Cuba's capital city. Packed with lounges, music venues, galleries, parks, and esplanades, this urban hub is just a five-minute ride from the city's Old Town area. Numerous shops, bars, and restaurants are scattered along the most popular city street, La Rampa, which transverses the neighborhood from east to west. Be sure to visit the massive ice cream parlor, which occupies nearly an entire city block. Sit on a bench next to a sculpture of former Beatles member John Lennon. On hot nights, many visitors and locals alike flock to the Malecon--a pathway along the sea and a popular meeting spot where you'll often find hundreds of locals drinking and chatting. Use our Havana holiday planner to visit Vedado on your trip to Havana, and learn what else travelers and our writers recommend seeing nearby.

  • While old Havana is the most representative of Havana the other zone known as Vedado is full of sights, hotels and restaurants, if you visit this area the authentic lifestyle of a Cuban can be seen.

  • Set aside a day to Sealed, if you stay in Habana Vieja. Habana Libre, Copelia, Plaza de la Revolución ... enjoy to know every bit of the neighborhood.

  • Area where you will find many points of interest in Havana. The buildings are more modern in Centro Habana and Habana Vieja. District of American cut with tall buildings, some Art Deco style, which had their heyday before the revolution. In this part of town is the PC, .of the revolution, the University of Cuba, the great theatre of Cuba, and many of the best-known hotels like the national than at its time of release used to be also Casino, the Tryp Habana Libre, Riviera, Capri, Cohiba, etc. Another tourist attraction is "El Malecon", you need to know if or if. It is a quiet area that toured both day and night, without any problem.
