Fusterlandia, Havana
(4.6/5 based on 800+ reviews on the web)
Step into a world of wonder at Fusterlandia, a treasure trove of bright colors and wonderfully weird handmade installations covering every surface. One of Cuba's most iconic artists, Jose Fuster, designed and created the bold neighborhood, which now invites visitors to explore the maze of walkways and Picasso-influenced artwork dripping off every fence, street pole and roof. If you're lucky you'll meet Fuster's son, who explains the installations and his input. The neighbourhood stands in homage to the vibrant life of Cuba, and also has a gift shop where you can purchase prints and ceramics. • I'm so happy to be able to go and see also Fusterlandia during my stay in Havana. Guess who doesn't have ever seen such a thing make a huge effect, I loved it even though you look a lot not only to Gaudi's Parc Guell which is inspiring, but mostly at italianissimo Tarot Garden by Niki de Saint Phalle. I went to review the dates, to his own mean Fuster started working in Jaimanitas district in 1995, Niki de Saint Phalle made his Park from 1979 to 1996, the dates are clear on which artist will inspire each other. That said, Fusterlandia is gorgeous, a riot of architectures, puppets, Visual inspirations together covered with colorful pottery shining in the Sun. I find of great interest that the artist's studio is still there, and you can buy her works that have higher price really absolutely accessible for all budgets. I will rate it as one of the essential elements of my trip. Go absolutely and you won't regret it.
