Witness 19th-century Neoclassical architecture at El Templete. The temple, which is deeply immersed in stories of the local culture and history, was built in 1828 on the site of the city's first mass and the first council. It sits behind a column that replaces a silk cotton tree where the first mass took place. Inside the structure you'll find three large paintings that depict the first mass, the first town council, and the blessing of the site.
