Central Park, Havana

4.3
#2 of 14 in Parks in Havana
The beating heart of the city of Havana, Central Park bustles with sounds, sights, and smells. Perfect for a spot of people-watching, this small patch of greenery provides a series of stone benches, fountains, and sculptures to break up the hubbub of the busy streets, bus terminal, and buildings that surround. At the center of the park a sculpture of national hero and important figure in Latin American literature, José Martí, looks out serenely over the lively city center. • A pleasant surprise Havana, I can not compare with other previous experience but, judging by what I found, the traditional tours of Cuba are being restored to consciousness.

  • And especially for the extraordinary Centro Gallego (new art), the beautiful Centro Asturiano (art deco) and the Hotel of England for the nostalgic... On the site it will offer all types of possible transport: car to horse, car years 50, (monotonous) yellow taxis and taxi-coconut (the small yellow balls)! Everything is of course to negotiate (hard) before to ride in any means of transport...

  • There are a lot of classic cars around this area. I recommend you to try their 1 hour tour offer and make sure to pick your favorite car!!!
  • Excellent. Great staff and facilities and perfect location for old town. The live music here is wonderful.
  • Lovely place to sit in the shade and while the day away.
  • It's the place where most tourists are. The capitol is 50 meters away. There also is a Wi-fi hotspot from the inglaterra hotel. Beautiful and really representative of the tourist activities in cuba. One downside is the constant harassment from taxi drivers.
  • Great place to hang out. Lots to see in this area including museums, theater, bars and restaurants. Great place to sit down and people watch too.

Where to stay in Havana

Old Havana remains the most popular neighborhood to stay in Cuba's capital. Here you'll find all manner of accommodations, from budget guesthouses and bed and breakfasts to luxury hotels. Some of the back streets in the old town can be quite rough, so visitors with children might want to steer clear of the area. Providing a quieter, more residential alternative, the western suburb of El Vedado exudes a relaxed atmosphere and serves as the perfect spot for a family vacation. If you're after better beach access, look farther west to the upper-class district of Miramar.
