El Yunque, Baracoa

Categories: Outdoor Activities
Inspirock Rating:
4.8/5 based on 95 reviews on the web
Spotted way back in 1492 by Christopher Columbus, El Yunque continues to attract those seeking adventure in the exotic and still mysterious Cuban paradise. Rent a bike or a horse, or hike up on foot to reach the top at 575 m (1,886 ft). From there, you'll witness the endless horizon spreading across the deep blue sea, gigantic trees, and colorful flowers of the tropical wilderness. Have in mind that frequent rain showers usually make the terrain muddy and slippery, so wear appropriate hiking boots. Bring a swimsuit for the hip-deep river crossings, crystal clear waterfalls, and natural pools--all welcome refreshment along the way. El Yunque is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our world travel planner, Baracoa Edition.
