Upper Town (Gornji Grad), Zagreb

(4.7/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web)
Visit Upper Town (Gornji Grad) to explore some of the capital city's most interesting restaurants, bars, and unique sites, such as the Museum of Broken Relationships. Start in the central square and walk the network of narrow streets uphill to Kaptol. Move east to Gradec and Tkalciceva, the city's most colorful pedestrian street. Relax and people-watch in one of the many bohemian cafes. Head to the museum to learn about the town's history. See sculptures, drawings, and lithographs from one of the most famous Croatian artists at Mestrovic Studio. Notice the multi-colored tile roof, constructed in 1880, on the 13th-century St Mark's church. Before you take the funicular down to the lower town, be sure to stop at Lotrscak Tower. • Beautiful place to go just have a walk, nice restaurants, charming atmosphere, decent prices. Would definitely come back.
