Museum of Broken Relationships, Zagreb
(4.1/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
At Museum of Broken Relationships, reflect on the fragility of human relationships, and consider the political, social, and cultural circumstances surrounding the love stories presented. After the end of their four-year relationship, Olinka Vistica and Drazen Grubisic started the collection with their leftover personal items. See how other people embraced the idea of exhibiting their past love as a sort of mourning. The facility received the Kenneth Hudson Award for Europe's most innovative museum in 2011. • View stories of relationships that end through items and objects, which meant so much to a couple I found the idea super validates, the environment is amazing. Very clean, organized, and with stories from around the world. Super recommend for those who esitver in Zagreb, stopping there.

  • A place a great beauty with some sad but truly redemptive stories, each linked to a personal artifact. Tearful
  • If you walk in you have no idea what to expect. Be surprised by the objects and, above all, the stories of the owners of the objects. Each object represents a broken relationship. Sometimes touching, often recognizable, often funny. Worth a visit.

  • Most of the stories make you think on them. Some are just funny and others make you sad or even angry. It's nice to get some idea of what other people have to struggle with and that you're not the only one feeling down when things seem dark. You get a better perspective on your own past, current and even future romantic experiences. A must see :)
  • Really enjoyable museum! It's like reading a charming and offbeat book with objects that can be amusingly simple to extremely powerful (such as a mother's suicide note). We found that the last room, which has equally interesting stories, added that bit too much content that made us feel a bit tired with the exhibit. We thought it would have been better if it were that little bit smaller as we were satisfied before that point.
  • Very nice unusual museum with interesting pieces of lives from around the world ranging from summer love ending to real love dramas.. A bit unsettling.. And depressing though...
  • Really good museum base in a really good idea. Objects from broken relationship. Really realley good.
  • Maybe it is the best museum in Zagreb! Practically it is a collection of items and relative descriptions from all over the world that are connected with love relations which broke up. The museum really deserves a visit. However, consider that Zagreb Card is not ammitted for discounts, differently from what it is advised by the Zagreb official website.
