Jelacic Square (Trg Bana Josipa Jelacica), Zagreb
(4.3/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
At Jelacic Square (Trg Bana Josipa Jelacica), the most common meeting place in the capital city, watch people coming and going among the newspaper and flower vendors. The square has been the center of the downtown pedestrian zone since the 17th century. Admire the classicist, secessionist, and modernist buildings. See the large equestrian statue of Count Josip Jelacic, who led Croatians into a battle for independence in the 19th century. The statue was removed from the square during the communist period, then returned to its original place in the 1990s. The square is inaccessible by car, but it is the main hub for trams. • Is the city's main square from where depart the pathways leading everywhere, behind the market and the Cathedral laterally climb x the upper town, across the road that leads to the old post office and the Court in front of the avenues towards the lower town, packed with young people. There is also the main tourist office. The square is huge and it is a constant coming and going of people and tram ... rectangular in shape, with in the Center the statue of one of the heroes. I mean if you go to Zagreb anywhere you wish go here you will need to pass necessarily.

  • Zagrebs center. Really good spot to catch a lot of various types of pokemon. Lots of gyms too. Good places to double or even triple lure. Hi son!
  • Main meeting point of the city and main square. Two usual spots to meet are "by the clock" and "by the statue". It's always lively with a lot of things hapenning there from concerts to small stands with local food and produce. You can also catch free wifi there.
  • Heart of the city and main meeting point. Free walking tours at 10 and 5 meet here. A lot of people and trams pass thru here.
  • The statue was large and well-lit, with an admirably portrayed horse, but was unfortunately surrounded by hawkers. Close to great bars and cafes, a supermarket and banks.
  • One of the Zagreb trademarks. If you come to Zagreb you must see it. It's one of the favourite meeting places for locals and there are a lot of cool cafés around.
