  • We hiked at Velika Paklenica to Mountain Hut and had a pleasent day even it was hot and sunny. Excluding the begining of the path it was comfortable and shadowed. We experienced that the anounced time...  more »
  • Really a very nice national park with beautiful views! We have started to input 1 and have 1, 5u hiked up to the mountain inn. This piece is to do good, occasional steep sections but the path is wide and a lot of shade here. Good shoes are recommended! You can also complement what your water bottles on this path with us certainly was welcome in view of the high temperatures. From the mountain inn to Mala Mocila (1u), do a really difficult route with many loose stones on the narrow path what climbing more difficult. Scenic views along the way. Starting from Mala Mocila moved on to Jurline (45 min), also beautiful but very hot because little shelter from the Sun. Make sure that you have enough water at the Mountain Inn because after there are no water points more and if the temperature increases do you really need a lot of water. After Jurline walked back down to the car park, the descent is really quite heavy. Be careful where you get is really crucial because almost with each step slide your on the loose stones. The descent took us 1 h 15. Really a very nice park but not really advisable with young children. Best as early as possible is the least pressure and the temperature. Good shoes and plenty of water are a must and also good mold release from the Sun! Definitely worth it if you're in the area!

Where to stay in Zadar

If proximity to the sights in Zadar is your priority, opt to stay in the old town, a compact area packed with historical buildings. Although this area offers few budget-friendly hotel rooms, you can choose from affordable hostels within walking distance of the city's main sights. Zadar's resort hotels tend to hug the coastline, a short drive out of the city. Book ahead if you want to stay there, or stop by the city's tourist office for a list of private rooms closer to the city center.
