Stari Grad Plain, Stari Grad

(4.4/5 based on 60+ reviews on the web)
Hike or ride through Stari Grad Plain, a World Heritage-listed lanscape virtually unchanged since the original agricultural infrastructure was put in place by the Greeks in 4th century BCE. You can spot remnants of this distant past everywhere, not only in the vineyards and olive fields, but also in the rustic stone walls that once divided plots of arable land. You can cycle around the area on paved biking tracks, or hike through the countryside to find secluded spots tailor-made for a private picnic. See Stari Grad Plain and all Stari Grad has to offer by arranging your trip with our Stari Grad tourist route planner.

  • A Unesco heritage site where you will feel and see how nothing much has changed over centuries in this beautiful landscape. A must do when here on the island of Hvar.
  • A wonderful place to stroll among the fields. Chapels add to the charm. I recommend especially in the morning when I get up.

  • The port is really quiet, very nice to walk around with the kids at the edge water. A small charming, typically Croatian.
