Historic Site
Walk through the historic core of Old Split to see one of the best-preserved Roman remains in the world: the Diocletian palace. The town joined the list of World Heritage Sites in 1979. Enter the open-air central area of the palace and climb the campanile of St. Domnius cathedral. Enjoy a panoramic view of Split, nearby islands, and Marjan hill. Don't miss the chance to rub the big toe of the giant statue of Gregory of Nin, outside the palace gate, and make a wish. Other sites to see include 12th- and 13th-century Romanesque churches, medieval forts, 15th-century Gothic palaces, and Renaissance and Baroque-style palaces. • Centuries of history within the walls of this city, which is still alive and radiant! The ancient city is incredible, but also the surroundings, showing constructions of Yugoslavia last.

  • Our holiday exploring the Balkans could not start better. Split, a city not big, not distracting, rich in history ... a city that has managed to make the legacy left behind by history an integral part of everyday life. It is nice to walk through its narrow streets and discover charming corners or walking face the vastness and the intense blue of the sea. Stay in a daze looking at historic buildings, enjoy a coffee in one of the many little bars lost within the walls of Diocletian's Palace. Vale.
