  • A 20+ minute walk from the palace, but the collection of Mestrovic's works makes a great impression. Marble, bronze, wood: he was versatile and prolific, and very talented. Admission to the gallery al...  more »

  • Amazing works in a great location. My only criticism is that many sculptures are mounted on plinths that are too high, many have their faces turned upwards and without being able to look down on them, you miss seeing some incredible work. Short and medium people, take something to stand on 😊
  • Nice setting. Grounds could do with a tidy up, but its on e hell of a house! Particularly liked the sculptures of Job.
  • Mestrovic granted this gallery to the city. Definitely worth the visit. Also go to the chapel that is included, you wouldn't be disappointed.
  • Nice quiet place. Beautiful architechture and sculptures. Nice view of the sea. Not expensive. You can walk there in 40 min from center Split.
  • Lovely house and view. Interesting sculptures but lacking explanatory detail. We found more about the artist's life from Wiki than the museum. Not alot for your money.

Where to stay in Split

Split and its surrounding area boast an extensive system of private accommodations for rent, which range from simply furnished rooms to elegantly outfitted multi-room apartments. Many locals approach travelers at the main bus station with offers of available lodgings, but before you agree to anything, make sure you know the room's exact location in reference to the town center. For something more luxurious, check out the city's four- and five-star hotels, or consider an elegant villa a walk away from the major sights.
