Bacvice Beach, Split

2.5
#1 of 10 in Beaches in Split
Split's most popular sandy spot, Bacvice Beach provides a great setting for swimming, sunbathing, enjoying a few cold drinks, and playing "picigin," a traditional ball game played only in this part of Croatia. You'll find showers and changing rooms at both ends of this lively tourist attraction. If you're a tennis fan, note the nearby club, where Wimbledon champ Goran Ivanisevic perfected his shots and famous serve. • Beach dirty - lots of cigarette butts by land and other dirt. However easy access next to the centre of Split. Well equipped in inflatables. Many tourists to this period - normal - not a lot of room to move.

  • To make sure to spend a good afternoon mixing these 3 elements, I advise you to take a sunbed a 70kn on the concrete but part that ensures peace and possibility of a swim easily. To eat and drink, avoid the bar which rent you sun loungers, service is as cheap as that quality of drinks (mojito without Mint and rum... obviously) prefer the Noodle bar in addition to terrible food, provide alcohol with wine or bottles of mortals mojito or mango mojito in the form of granite! The service is really perfect, the whole team is nice, they even allowed us to go to consume our bottles of wine on the deck of the neighbors ;-). In short, great for an afternoon under the sign of the pleasure!

  • Whilst we didn't go to Split for a beach holiday we decided to venture down to Bacvice beach late one afternoon. We were very underwhelmed, understandably for August it was very busy, however, it wasn...  more »

  • Still super crowded after the sun went down and definitely sandy but only if you consider sand to be composed of 40% cigarettes, 10% miscellaneous trash, and 50% sand(but really isn't sand mostly mud). One of the most disgusting beaches in pretty much most parts of the world, and absolutely in Croatia. Do not recommend at all. We weren't even being that picky and it was this disappointing.
  • Not the cleanest beach. Offers shallow waters and is surrounded by lots of amenities: food, drink, and toilets. Gets very busy in peak season - if you keep travelling east you will get to quieter pebble beaches.
  • Sandy beach...good for small kids.
  • We went to this place to go swimming, the beach was very very busy. One of the worst experience!!
  • Crowded, not clean enough

Where to stay in Split

Split and its surrounding area boast an extensive system of private accommodations for rent, which range from simply furnished rooms to elegantly outfitted multi-room apartments. Many locals approach travelers at the main bus station with offers of available lodgings, but before you agree to anything, make sure you know the room's exact location in reference to the town center. For something more luxurious, check out the city's four- and five-star hotels, or consider an elegant villa a walk away from the major sights.
