The cathedral dates back to 1298, though the first boulder was laid in 1402. Over a period of more than a century, this simple stone church gradually received statues of Adam and Eve, the ceiling was adorned with angelic figures, and the facade transformed into a lavish piece of art.   • I was hoping this place would have a bit more but I was left a bit disappointed. We paid an entry fee to go in and there wasn't any information in English about the history of the cathedral at all so ...  more »
  • Beautiful city with many monuments and places worth seeing. Us captivated the Cathedral but also narrow streets and coves with vessels

  • This is a short drive out of Zadar and well worth the stop. The signs to the Center are easy to follow, and there is parking outside the cathedral. The bells at an adjacent church peal often and loudl...  more »
