Subicevac Fortress, Sibenik

Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
2/5 based on 20 reviews on the web
Perched hilltop, Subicevac Fortress represents a fortress built in 1646 to protect against Turkish attacks. Today, overgrown stonework is all that remains, but the view is second to none. Terra-cotta clay roofs dot the horizon, amid the lush greenery of this coastal town. Take in the view from the viewing terrace, or enjoy a picnic on the park benches. Along the footpath to the neighboring fortress watch for remnants of World War II bunkers. • Some complain about the price, but you get a combination ticket for a more fortress further down. The ticket is valid, several days, so that you can see both units on two different days. A family ticket, what think it would be nice I but so not there. We have approached this fortress by car (parking is sufficient), so that it was not so hard in the heat. Reaching the second fortress from the old town on foot! The prospect of two points is really worth seeing. So if you're already there, you should leave don't miss it! Rather there but cannot be seen. In the visitor centre, there is still some information otherwise for children a pirate ship to play and a kiosk for drinks and snacks.
