Krka National Park, Sibenik-Knin County

(4.1/5 based on 2,200+ reviews on the web)
Packed with waterfalls, riverside trails, and vegetation, represents one of the island's foremost protected areas. Explore the national park's network of trails that crisscrosses its rugged terrain, then go for a dip in the pools surrounding the many waterfalls--the tallest of which rises to 27 m (89 ft) and cascades down multiple levels to the pool below. The park covers nearly the entire length of the river, giving you a view of the water almost wherever you go and allowing you to spot some of the many fish, birds, and reptiles that call the area home. Be sure to stop by the series of Orthodox monasteries, some from the 15th century, that dot the riverbank and islets within the park. Krka National Park is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Skradin Edition.

  • In September, still the crowds (I can't imagine July or August), pricey entrance fee even after the season. But ... Worth it for the views and waterfalls. Crowd in the water ... So if someone will ... I do not if a lot of stones.

  • the Krka National Park is absolutely worth a visit. Here, nature has created a really spectacular waterfall. It rushes on the complete circuit and everything is beautifully green. Really worth seeing. Also for visitors who are not lovers of nature. We entered the Park at the entrance to Skrandin and had a roughly one-hour walk at the falls. We drove comfortably back with the ferry.

  • Are driven by the bus down and went for a walk there. The routes over the planks were of course not as long as in the Plitvice Lakes, but nice anyway. The waterfall is really worth seeing. Would recommend to anyone, who goes on a hot day (as we do): costume and something to eat and drink to take!
