Monkodonja Hill Fort, Rovinj
Categories: Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Explore the well-preserved ruins of a Bronze Age settlement at Monkodonja Hill Fort. Occupied between the years 1800 and 1200 BCE, the settlement mysteriously became uninhabited after 1200 BCE. Walk within the thick stone walls to see the remains of the acropolis, upper town, and lower town. Head to the top of the amphitheater for great views. Signs in several languages mark various areas of the settlement and give extra information. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Rovinj holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the Monkodonja Hill Fort and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.
