Trsat Castle, Rijeka
Categories: Castles, Tourist Spots
On the site of castles dating to the Roman period, Trsat Castle today bears the marks of a later reconstruction in Neo-Gothic style. The castle changed hands multiple times between the 14th and 19th centuries, finally falling into the hands of an eccentric Austro-Hungarian naval officer who undertook its massive restoration. The castle features a stereotypical medieval tower and a Greek facade complete with columns and statues. Be sure to make your way to one of the terrace cafes for a view of Kvarner Bay. From there you'll have an unobstructed view of other ruins on nearby islands. Make Trsat Castle part of your personalized Rijeka itinerary using our Rijeka itinerary planner.

Today is a beautiful belvedere, which was aided by the presence of the cafeteria rather trendy that somewhat defeats the mighty Antiquities of those walls. Happened during two different Summers for sure Trsat is a pleasant compared to the chaotic clamor although lovely River City that you can see from above into a new perspective. After struggling to find a parking space available, the great thing is that here you can park free of charge just outside the village, and with a nice walk you can get to the Castle. The sculpture of a dragon will make the atmosphere even more magical, if then blowing a fresh wind coffee to the fortress will take even stronger connotations. The fortress is apparently very popular with tourists and locals, and is rented out for wedding receptions and similar events. Often exhibitions in the Castle.show original
