Housed in a historical, Austro-Hungarian fortress, Aquarium Pula hosts an array of local aquatic wildlife, a sea turtle rescue center, and a series of related exhibits. Visit the complex on a peninsula, and explore its two floors of underwater habitats from the Mediterranean and Adriatic seas. In addition to European flora and fauna, the aquarium also features exotic and tropical fish from around the globe. Stop by the sea turtle center to learn more about the rehabilitation program for injured reptiles before they're returned to the wild. Continue through the complex to see the evolutionary development through fossil displays. Be sure to stop by the special section dedicated to Croatia's and the Balkan region's population of freshwater river and lake creatures. Aquarium Pula Reviews
Der Besuch im Aquarium hat uns sehr gut gefallen und ich bin froh, dass wir dort waren. Im Gegensatz zum Sea Life war es hier nicht überfüllt, sondern wir konnten alles in Ruhe anschauen. I know what is meant by the narrow corridors mentioned in another criticism, but they are only sooo narrow at one point and not at all. By the way, they were very interestingly illustrated, from the Big Bang to the development of the animals. Not all, but many information boards were also in German. There were so many great fish, jellyfish etc. What i was most excited about was that for the first time we saw Axolotl and various types of plankton. Thank you very much!
Set in the bowels of an old fort what you have is here is a great exhibition of local sea life including a few baby sharks and baby cayman in the amazon exhibition on the top floor. Don’t miss the vie... more »

For sure a “must visit” if in the area. Its bigger then one would expect and the variety of fish and reptiles is amazing. They also have a fish nursery and sea turtle rehabilitation. Staff friendly and willing to explain. Bio & vegan bar. Good job to all!! Definitely a revisit if we come back.
Beautiful but to expensive, no family tickets and discounts. 20% more expensive than last year, there are still flyers to find with old prices that were acceptable, I do not understand what happened. I have been in a lot of similar places in Germany and Italy, there was more for less, or a lot more for the same price.
This is the best aquarium I've ever seen, lot of sea animals in one place. You will nerd few hours to take the full tour, but it's really worth of it. There is albo free visitors parking.
The nice thing about Aquarium Pula is the focus on regional species and habitats, although there is also a section on the tropics. In addition there is also some good documentation about the historic fortifications, which house the exhibitions. A visit to the aquarium should definitely be on top of any "what to do in Pula"-list.
It's worth a visit. It's a mysterious old location. Overall interesting and beautiful animals. I thought some of them lived in quite small aquariums for their size, and I think they could make better use of the space and make it a better living environment for the animals. They say to be aware of, and willing to change the use of single use plastic but at the vegan snackbar they still give you single use plastic, this feels a little off.
