Aquarium Pula, Pula

Zoo · Aquarium
Housed in a historical, Austro-Hungarian fortress, Aquarium Pula hosts an array of local aquatic wildlife, a sea turtle rescue center, and a series of related exhibits. In addition to European flora and fauna, the aquarium also features exotic and tropical fish from around the globe. Stop by the sea turtle center to learn more about the rehabilitation program for injured reptiles before they're returned to the wild. • We were here for the first time. The price was only 50 HRK p.p. (croatian kuna) because of the situation...The price is much higher in "regular" touristic season for foreigners (and us croatians) but....  more »
  • We went in November so some of the out door exhibits weren't there but the overall atmosphere is amazing. The old fort is converted into an aquarium and has a Marvel feel to it, for example sharks in....  more »
  • We visited here on a day where the weather wasn't so great. The price was okay compared to UK aquariums and it provided exactly what you would expect from an aquarium. There was a lot of fish to see.....  more »
  • For sure a “must visit” if in the area. Its bigger then one would expect and the variety of fish and reptiles is amazing. They also have a fish nursery and sea turtle rehabilitation. Staff friendly and willing to explain. Bio & vegan bar. Good job to all!! Definitely a revisit if we come back.
  • Beautiful but to expensive, no family tickets and discounts. 20% more expensive than last year, there are still flyers to find with old prices that were acceptable, I do not understand what happened. I have been in a lot of similar places in Germany and Italy, there was more for less, or a lot more for the same price.
  • This is the best aquarium I've ever seen, lot of sea animals in one place. You will nerd few hours to take the full tour, but it's really worth of it. There is albo free visitors parking.
  • The nice thing about Aquarium Pula is the focus on regional species and habitats, although there is also a section on the tropics. In addition there is also some good documentation about the historic fortifications, which house the exhibitions. A visit to the aquarium should definitely be on top of any "what to do in Pula"-list.
  • It's worth a visit. It's a mysterious old location. Overall interesting and beautiful animals. I thought some of them lived in quite small aquariums for their size, and I think they could make better use of the space and make it a better living environment for the animals. They say to be aware of, and willing to change the use of single use plastic but at the vegan snackbar they still give you single use plastic, this feels a little off.
