  • A really beautiful, unique natural experience. We walked the C route from entrance 1, with our two boys 12 & 15. The park is formed in a gorge, with a series of lakes that have been formed, each one higher (or lower) than the next. The limestone in the rocks gives the lakes a very deep greenish blue color. As you walk up (or down) there are water falls and cascades around the lakes and between each new level. There are a variety of fish in the lake and other flora and fauna around there park. We took around 4 hours for the loop, which includes a boat ride and then a tram back to the lot where we entered. It occurred to me at the end that you could take the tram from ST-1 to ST-3 at the other end, and then your walk would be mostly downhill, which could be nice for families with small kids. The trails were well maintained. We'd been told that tour buses arrive from the Adriatic around 9, so got up early to get into the park before 8. Sure, enough the crowds when we left were much bigger at different locations, including a long line at the entrance. We then had lunch at one of the restaurants in the park. And by 2, the crowds had disappeared
  • This was our highlight of our Croatia drive around. The pristine and beauty of God's creation kept at its natural state. The walk around the lakes was magnificent. We even went up the grotto looking cave, took the ferry and the free bus/train ride which was included in the entrance fee. A must see in Croatia!
  • Incredibly gorgeous scenery! These waterfalls flow through the rock and vegetation like nothing I've ever seen before. If you can figure out a way to go when it is less crowded, do so. The crowds really detract from the nature. Signage is very good.
  • Literally the most beautiful place I have ever been in my life, and travelling the world is my hobby. I don't have any photos handy to share, but just spend 5 seconds on google and you will see. Absolutely gorgeous, when I die I hope I get a heaven that looks like Plitvice.
  • One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. I stayed for three days and did not come close to seeing all there was. I rarely recommend a guide but in this case, a private guide would certainly enable you to take in more of the beauty. Then perhaps- go back on your on to enjoy your favorite places at your leisure.
