Mountain
Rising imposingly above the Adriatic Sea, Biokovo Mountain and its chain of peaks stretch down to the ocean. From the nearby town of Makarska, you can ascend 2.9 km (1.8 mi) of trails to the accessible peak to explore the rocky terrain. Travel along the sign-posted pathways, and you may even end up at Vosac, the range's highest point at more than 1,760 m (5,774 ft). If you prefer, you can join one of the many guided tours offered at the Biokovo nature park, which include natural- and cultural-themed trips. • Really nice view from the top. When the weather is very clear you can see Italy from there. However, the roads are really bad, so if you are driving you've got to be really careful...  more »
  • This was an organised trip up the mountain as a half day excursion, and it was well worth the money.Lots of hairpin bends but when you reach the top, wonderful views of the Markaska Riviera.  more »
  • I went on a sunny day from Makarska in the direction of Vosac. Despite the heat, the way seemed not too strenuous (walking tour 5 - Makarska - Makar - Kruska - Strbina - Vošac), there were only two during the approximately 1200 metres I got marks. I had to reverse approximately in 30 minutes to the Hill Vosac - because my water supplies only to 0, 7 l has fallen (I took almost 3 liters). Anyway, I've had very nice views of the Harbor, Makarska and its surroundings (see pictures). Next time I'm taking more water.
