Sveta Nedilja, Hvar

4.4
#4 of 7 in Beaches in Hvar
Turquoise water laps against the rocky coastline, little fishing boats bob up and down in the harbor, and sails dot the horizon at Sveta Nedilja. This tiny village nestled along the shoreline remains best known for its local wine production of plavac, a grape similar to zinfandel. A single-lane tunnel serves as the only way into town. Explore the numerous underground wine cellars that preserve the fruits of the local wineries' labor. Along the coastline you'll find plenty of secluded pebble beaches and inlets. Sveta Nedilja is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Hvar Edition.

  • A company get there, 17 km from the highway including a mini tunnel just over 2 x 2 without light and alternate one-way ... arrival in a port with a sea of fright, you are right on one point. I think apart from the restaurant there is really more. Full of apartments for rent ... Beware, if you want to relax/boredom is perfect, otherwise take a thought ... Inconvenient to reach population centers (cob over 50 people). Only thing of note the views along the road

  • Access to the village by car a feat. Navigate through it (a total of 5 streets cross) is a challenge. Is a commune located at the top and at the bottom of the typical live natives. There are few because 131. One mini market at the top, one bakery and a fruit stand. Beach one at the port of otoczakami but always full of Poles ... in addition to the one in the East and spectacular cliffs. It is worth to go East cliffs to the local hermit Miro, who lives there with his family and offers various activities. Climbing a professional boat transport and even renting a boat with the engine. I chose this to visit Hvar. To the West we have the islet a tree with two benches and below the concrete where you can spread with a towel. Are in town 2 bars, this at the port in the shape of your sleeve-fish and local wine, they also have a small wine cellar below with barrels for wine, the second to the West from the port a bit cheaper with a broader menu. You can visit two caves above the city as one of them was once a convent and are the remains of a small chapel, a Bell Tower and the statue of MB. The locals go there several times a year to pray. Visit the renovated church and primary school in which there are 4 tables. One of the most important properties is a factory fault gold wrappers. I would recommend for a couple of days.

  • Great view on the wine yards which are positioned between northern cliffs and the endless sea on the south. If you are hiking with small children avoid the sun peak hours as it can get quite hot up there. And bring lots of water :)
  • Beautiful vineyards.
  • It's unique ... .
