  • Went there just because Of TripAdvisor reviews but it didn't meet our expectations. Basically only what is worth to go up (hundred of steps on a hot summer day!) is amazing view of Hvar. Nothing else....  more »
  • The fortress can be seen immediately upon arrival at the port of Hvar. Rise to it we started to narrow streets from the restaurant San Marco. Enjoyed herself walking on a footpath, passing through the narrow streets, and then in the Botanical Garden, and of course that opened up when we got to our destination. Upstairs there is a small café and shop with souvenirs. Several rooms with artifacts, ancient amphorae found in the ground sinking ships. Several viewing platforms. We were in the evening hours when it is cool and stayed to watch the sunset, they are closed in seven. The breath of old times and city views, on rooftops, on the Pakleni Islands, and other nearby islands fascinate and yet remain in memory for a long time. All advise:)

  • The fortress itself may not seem impressive to you, but the views which it you will see how the most so. Very beautiful the handle to the fortress.

  • The Spanjola fortress is quite a climb up from Hvar town but well worth it for the views out over the town and the nearby islands. The walk itself is very pleasant through well-maintained gardens. There is a small cafe in the fortress.
  • Impressive fortress at the top of mountains overlooking the town of Hvar. Great views. Little coffee shop. The walk up into the park is also very pleasant
  • It has some very nice views from up high. You can see the whole city. Entrance fee is 30Kn each. Worth it for the views. You can also grab a drink up there if you'd like. You should go if you're in the area.
  • Absolutely incredible views of Hvar and the sea. There's a cafe at the top too
  • the main tourist attraction in the town of Hvar - must visit, excellent views
