Pakleni Otoci, Hvar

Categories: Islands, Nature & Parks
Inspirock Rating:
4.6/5 based on 700+ reviews on the web
Pakleni Otoci offers many peaceful coves for diving, underwater fishing, swimming, and water sports. The name is popularly translated as Hells' islands, but it originally derives from "paklina," an archaic word, meaning "tar." The islands are especially popular with visitors who have smaller yachts. If you're such a visitor, moor your boat in the Palmizana marina and watch the waves wash onto the sandy cove surrounded by pine forests. Go scuba diving near Vodnjak--the island the mayor wanted to rename Facebook. For a lovely dinner, head to Galesnik, a former artillery fort-turned-eco-island. The islands are full of naturist beaches, which feature showers and charming shops. Use our Hvar vacation trip planner to arrange your visit to Pakleni Otoci and other attractions in Hvar.

  • Only a few minutes by boat from Hvar town is an archipelago of over 15 islets, all awesome, you can go with the cheap taxi boats that depart from the Centre every 20/30 minutes, round trip cost about 6 euros, or you can hire a boat from 60 € per day, I recommend the Bay of Mlini and bays of Sveti klement , an oasis of peace and relaxation with crystal clear water, eating and drinking there is the Bay of Palmizana where there are excellent restaurants and a nice beach bar with a dj, to visit every day:)

  • Rent a boat and take it out to the islands. Keep going past the Carpe Diem crowds and rental yachts until you find your own private cove for relaxing and swimming. The fish are plentiful and water is so clear you can always see the bottom. The sea gulls may not like your presence, but there is no better place to relax.
  • An archipelago which incude 16 beautiful islands. Must see destination!
  • Great spot to visit for the day, you can do some good hiking along the length of the island, and find some wonderful empty beaches and coves to go swimming on your own in, just push on past the first touristy beach!
  • best place to do peace with your soul
  • Great place for visiting for one day from the morning till the evening if you are staying in Hvar town or somewhere nearby Hvar town on the island of Hvar, come early in the morning by numerous of boats going here from the Hvar marina and come back in the evening (there is no place to sleep on the island). Or visit this island (Palmizana bay) if you are traveling on the yacht ACI Marina Palmizana has everything you need. You can find some good restaurants here like ZORI, and others and try the Hvarska Gregada - very tasty dish that you can find only on Hvar island and nearby small islands like this.
