Pakleni Otoci, Hvar

4.5
#1 of 13 in Parks in Hvar
Pakleni Otoci offers many peaceful coves for diving, underwater fishing, swimming, and water sports. The name is popularly translated as Hells' islands, but it originally derives from "paklina," an archaic word, meaning "tar." The islands are especially popular with visitors who have smaller yachts. If you're such a visitor, moor your boat in the Palmizana marina and watch the waves wash onto the sandy cove surrounded by pine forests. Go scuba diving near Vodnjak--the island the mayor wanted to rename Facebook. For a lovely dinner, head to Galesnik, a former artillery fort-turned-eco-island. The islands are full of naturist beaches, which feature showers and charming shops. • Definitely recommended if you spend some time in hvar. Reachable by taxi boat from the port of hvar. There is no need to reserve. The return is up to 19. The choice is varied. I recommend mlini, very nice from a naturalistic point of view. Once you reach via a small path you reach the beach on the other side of the island. Very beautiful is served by several bars. Possibility to rent sunbeds

  • If you spend a few days in Hvar, I recommend you make a day-trip to any of the Islands. During my stay I chose palmizana and I loved it! super quiet and beautiful.

  • We rented a boat for 500kn and went on their own to explore each of these islands beach. I think this is the best option. Visit, stop, soak in the wonderful beaches, all in your time.

  • A beautiful island. We arrived by boat so we had the opportunity to anchor in a small quite bay with only a few more boats. The water is crystal clear with fantastic surroundings. The main bay was very different, many young people with bars and restaurants.
  • The most beautiful archipelago in Croatia, with many secluded beaches, gorgeous coves, and crystal clear sea. Just don't go to any bars/restaurants, unless you want to be ripped off.
  • Lovely swim / snorkelling there.
  • What an amazing place! Best for swimming and fun.
  • a place to relax in the beautiful nature with good cocktails

Where to stay in Hvar

The island of Hvar caters to well-heeled travelers, so expect high prices and few bargain beds near the sea, especially at peak season. Stari Grad and Hvar Town draw the biggest crowds, though neither town offers budget-friendly hotels. Don't be put off by this, as you can find modestly priced accommodations in the form of private apartments rented by local families. If you've come to Hvar to splurge, check out the island's luxury hotels, with airy rooms, sea views, and access to private beaches.
