  • Not exactly a gate, more of a grand entrance. It's easy to take the simple things for granted when in Dubrovnik as it's all beautiful. We sat and admired this gate as we had just purchased an ice crea...  more »
  • This port is located in the eastern part of the old town. Outer Port 1450 erected according to plans by Simeon della Cava. The internal port is built in a Roman style. Pločeporten was second only to the Pileporten the main gate leading into the medieval Dubrovnik. At the outer gate is a drawbridge in wood which during the middle ages, hoisted up at night. Recommend a visit.

  • East of the old town entrance Ploce gate. Rugged pile gate is close to the old port an important gate for the Revelin fortress robust. Here you can go to vaniebeach from the side.

  • Less commonly used the East entrance to the old city of Dubrovnik as opposed to the West one, but also a place you should definetly visit or at least end your inner city tour!
  • Walking by the Revelin Fort wall one reaches the Citys easternmost point, the Ploče Gate leading to the suburban area of the same name.
  • Ploče Gate: main eastern entrance in the old city of Dubrovnik/Ragusa. The Outer Gates were built in 1450 by Simeone della Cava (later additions were constructed by architect Mihajlo Hranjac in 1628), while the Inner Gates (Gates of St. Luke) are from the 13th-14th c., constructed in Romanesque style. Near Revelin Fort and the old city harbour. Fantastic view.
  • A very beautiful gate to enter in the old city.
  • One of the two main gates of the of Dubrovnik - A must see!
