Onophrian Fountain, Dubrovnik
Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Although heavily damaged in a 1667 earthquake, the formerly lavish Onophrian Fountain was modeled by a famous artist from Naples, Onofrio della Cava. Built in 1438, the fountain featured complex ornaments and 16 streams, which you can see today as they flow from the mouths of images along the fountain. Stop by and see why the locals have a special bond with this fountain. You can quench your thirst here, as the water is potable.
