Lopud Island, Dubrovnik
Categories: Islands, Nature & Parks
Sunbathe, swim, and explore at Lopud Island, famous for its sandy beaches. Head to the bay on the southwest side, which is almost round with a narrow entrance and filled with white sand. Follow the footpath through the valley to the village on the other side of the island. The island was inhabited 4,000 of years, so look for old Greek, Roman, and Slavic ruins. Visit the former garden of a 19th-century villa turned park, which features trees, bamboo, and various types of cacti. During your visit, you'll have access to snacks, cold drinks, sun beds, and beach umbrellas for rent.
