Island
Sunbathe, swim, and explore at Lopud Island, famous for its sandy beaches. Head to the bay on the southwest side, which is almost round with a narrow entrance and filled with white sand. Follow the footpath through the valley to the village on the other side of the island. The island was inhabited 4,000 of years, so look for old Greek, Roman, and Slavic ruins. Visit the former garden of a 19th-century villa turned park, which features trees, bamboo, and various types of cacti. During your visit, you'll have access to snacks, cold drinks, sun beds, and beach umbrellas for rent. • Staying on this island is just stunning. It boasts one of the most stunning coastlines with perfectly clear seas. A perfect place for a holiday close to Dubrovnik.  more »
  • Lopud is a fairly large island, which has one of the only sandy beaches of Croatia. We visited it along with other 2 on a tour we hired from Dubrovnik with a local agency, and reach it by boat that left us in the Harbour, where there is a small pretty village which you can visit. To reach the sandy beach, which is paradise, because the sand is fine crystal clear water and is surrounded by the green of the plants, you can take a "type golf car" (not is very well as you call them) who have a few guys there very cheap takes you to the beach and brings you back, since it is on the other side of the island and it would take about an hour to get to walk in that car you take 10-20 minutes approximately. I liked it so much, but this went to see two other islands, and would not go only to this because it also has a lot to see and do.
