See the castle on a cliff, Fort Lovrijenac, one of Dubrovnik's most recognizable sights, and a detail from HBO's "Game of Thrones." Sitting 37 m (121 ft) above sea level, the fort dates back to 1018, when it was intended to protect the western part of Dubrovnik. Today, you can witness some of the events that take place at the site, which is sometimes compared with Gibraltar. Climb the 175 steps to the fort to see some of the best views of the city and the bay. Look for cannons that were designed by the leading local cannon caster of the epoch. A visit to Fort Lovrijenac represents just the start of the adventure when you use our Dubrovnik journey website to plot your vacation.

Good physical condition is required to climb up to the Fort from the beach of "King´s landing", but the panorama which can be seen from the top is impressive. You'll make the best photos of Dubrovnik from here. The entrance to the Fort is included in the entrance to the walls!View original -
The Lovrijenac fortress is so so interesting, but the views of Dubrovnik and it’s city walls are its best feature. more »

Fort Lovrijenac is interesting but it is fairly small and there is not too much to see within it. Saying that, it's price is included in the city walls ticket so if you have already purchased a ticket... more »

Must-see Dubrovnik fort! Offers best vantage point and spectacular views of the city and Adriatic. Lots of steps up, but is completely worth it. Make sure to look from both sides of the cliffs BEFORE you reach the entrance for amazing photo spots.
-
Really great! Amazing views. Can use city wall ticket for free entrance. Quite small, about 15 mins total.
-
If you don't visit the walls the ticket will cost you 50kn but if you bought the ticket for the walls first then you can use it to gain entry to Fort Lovrijenac. Magnificent place with a stunning view and a few Game of thrones filming sets. You will notice Cersei's map room as soon as you place your foot inside the fort. Definetly a must visit place next to the Walls of Dubrovnik.
-
Even thought there aren't really many things you can do inside but to experience the view of Dubrovnik from another angle, it's worth going all the up and enjoy the breeze and the breathtaking views.
-
Gorgeous view of the fort and old city walls. The water is a mesmerizing blue, and going in February led to no crowds!
