Categories: Landmarks, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.2/5 based on 7,000+ reviews on the web
Ride Dubrovnik Cable Car from Old Town to the top of Mount Srd. Along the way, the landscape transitions from the city's medieval walls and terra-cotta tile rooftops to the harbor, Adriatic coastline, and its many islands. Enjoy a panoramic view 405 m (1,329 ft) above sea level on one of two terraces. On a clear day, you can see as far as 60 km (37 mi), which made this a strategic location for the neighboring imperial fortress built here in the 19th century. Relax in the cafe, or enjoy a meal at the restaurant overlooking the city. Stop by the gift shop to pick up a souvenir from your scenic ride. • I had tried to go up in the morning but found the queues too long so went up in the middle of the afternoon and was up and away in a short time. The return trip cost is 120kn (Sept. 2016) but I bought...  read more »

  • The cable car was filled with audible gasps of amazement as our group was whisked through the clouds. There was a bit of a scuffle by some of the more serious photographers to grab the best shots on the relatively short ride to the top of the hill. The gorgeous views made it all worth while. There's a gift shop (of course) at the top and a little cafe. It was nice to walk around the back for a little space from the crowds and a nice look at the mountains behind the city. Those with a fear heights should skip absolutely this attraction.
  • Go at sunset, it's incredible! We brought our own food and drinks instead of eating at the overpriced restaurant. Best views!
  • 4 minutes from ground to the top and what an amazing 4 minutes. Great views in all directions and the entrance is just beside the old city walls. There is a restaurant at the top. Great for a treat at sunset or just a drink to cool off in the heat of the day.
  • It's quite expensive and the ride is short. Views and fort at the top are amazing. Long queues so be prepared to wait. It does however have free Wi-Fi. Tends to be closed without notice after bad weather.
  • Pricey ride (quick, only a few minutes) but the view is spectacular. Go in the evening to watch the sunset.
