  • Impressive from the road. Has free grazing deer in fields. Could unfortunately not gain access and due to time limitations we didn't persue entering.
  • If you love old castles, is right here. Veliki Tabor (big Castle) is situated in the beautifully situated town Desinic in the Croatian zagorje region. The castle can be visited, old carriages are exhibited and the rooms so restored, have lived like the count Ratkaj here. Concerts and other events take place regularly. With 2 hours of time, you saw the whole thing, it's worth

  • It's really a must see. No matter that restauration works are in the meantime. Placed on a hill with nice view on Hrvatsko zagorje. And it has nice background story about Ivana Desinicka. Really adds a touch.
  • Fantastic castle and beautiful surroundings. Easy drive from Zagreb through lovely country side.
  • I always encourage any restoration process, this time I couldn't help but think whether this was much larger intervention than it should be. The execution looks pretty well but I think having done that, the spirit of the castle was kind of neglected. Amazing view though, it's a beautiful place. Entrance fee is about 20 kunas, 10 for the kids. I insist you visit this historical landmark. Be sure to check visiting hours as they change during the summer and winter seasons.
  • Renovate it but possibly with policy. Nice view of the surrounding hills, the Interior uninteresting, a mix of ancient relics, two beds and some furniture, three Spears and a sword so no big deal. Some description of the objects in English and the rest in Croatian. Too bad.

  • A fantastic old Castle, very arranged Museum, curator, educated ... The staff of the Castle you allows to park their cars right next to the Fort and prevents burning of the Castle without their cars, other than that some presentations with commercials Cocta-Cocta on inner walls of the Castle also spoil the impression of the Museum and tourist snapshots. In addition, strong speakers are onemogučili us party to listen to the curator which is, stated I am very educated, but we weren't able to listen.
