Cavtat Cemetery, Cavtat
(4.5/5 based on 460+ reviews on the web)
On a hilltop above town, Cavtat Cemetery overlooks the bay and its sleepy shore, covered in sprawling greenery. Due to the picturesque location of the site, the cemetery was chosen as the final resting place for numerous important people, such as scientist Baltazar Bogišić and the prominent Račić family. See their mausoleum, fashioned by Croatian master sculptor Ivan Meštrović, with depictions of the stages of life in its interior. • Cavtat is a very small town with a nice port and the interesting graveyard on the hill overlooking the sea. If you're here in the neighborhood are worth it to make a stop, but not a really special place. If you are a tour then makes the Croatian coast has much nicer places to offer.
