The back is a little longer. Allow plenty of water. The path is quite shady and we could enjoy a bit of wind for us refresh from time to time. The guided tour is mandatory. The guides try to group people of the same nationality to offer a tour in the language of the present tourists. Our guide was awesome and this monastery worth by its history and all that's left in the parts that constitute it. It is well worth the 100 Kuna we paid (40 per adult & 10 per child). Only downside: Croatian family who has, apparently, the ground on which people Park and who started his small business in August by taxing 20 Kuna the location of parking... nothing is specified other than the Panel hand made and marked "private", I went to look in the small house where local products of the so-called family (priced a bit high) are sold. Nothing is said or that is paid, or the price... no real explanation, to wonder whether it is authorized. Except try to park right before the Panel where there are not many places or refuse, difficult to escape from what looks like a little scam and does not want to buy the so-called product local to the retourdi of the monastery. But the main thing is the visit of the monastery, and it would be a shame not to make.

The guide is available in several languages-very nice made, suitable also for children. At the monastery, there is no right restauration-only small memory (honey wine).
After a pleasant boat trip up the west coast of Brac from the town of Bol, hikers disembark for the hour-long climb up a secluded valley to this historic Hermitage Blaca museum. Once the home of monks... more »
Amazing building. Well worth the short hike. 40 kuna entrance. Tour guide is one of the two owners, and is very nice.
Just beautiful! Nice walk.
Amazing place and site where you'll find one truly firsthand insight into 400 years of history of one very special community. Everything is there still as it was when last lord of this place died in 1963. Religion, astronomy, ... Everything is there. I do not recommend to go there when it's really hot. Rather chose a cloudy day. Do not hike there in flip-flops.
We berthed our mini rental boat and followed the rocky but relatively easy uphill path (easily marked with white red white). It was about an hour. The forest had burned and successively there were lots of mini pine trees. Actually it was really quiet (we went end of Sept ). We saw some goats doing goat things. At the top the monastery was interesting and there are tours seemingly all day. Closed Mondays . English wasn't the best but otherwise understandable. Tour /entrance was 40 kuna. There was beer ,wine and water also available. Friendly people .according to the guide ,"big chief priest, no work , all accommodation, very organised. "
Solitary is ok but I would advise talking more difficult route especially in the afternoon. Better view and shorter walk.
