  • A visit to Surb Khach was one of the highlights of my recent road trip around South-East Crimea. This quiet peaceful scenic Armenian monastery is hidden in the mountainous forest next to the town of S...  more »
  • We were lucky-came in the morning, people were a little bit. LOTS of good tour spent one of the monks (we 100 rub. donations left, no money no "wife"). Told from the soul. In particular, I first time heard 1 such a simple and clear explanation of the differences between the Armenian and Russian churches which traditions and customs. Without pathos, without feelings of superiority, and so it is understandable that we have all the children understand and remember! :) And even in the Church bench great souvenirs! :) But in springs-surprisingly tasty water! I advise you not to forget to take a couple of bottles and stock up! :)

  • We visited the monastery with an individual excursion, because at this time of year here no excursions collective. Get yourself will be problematic: it is necessary to catch the bus to Stary Krym, and from him (on the bus) we still have approximately 10 km. walk in the mountains. So the best option is by car or with a guided tour. The monastery is situated in a very picturesque place in the mountains of the Eastern Crimea in the forest. Next to the monastery a cascade of three Springs-sources. There is a parking lot, but small. Entrance moderately paid, if you ask for a tour. Her conduct local monks, but it is possible to pass and free, if without excursions. The construction of the monastery, very "asketichny" for its architecture and the domestic interior. The monastery is still recovering. It has a very long and interesting history that is associated with the spread of Armenian culture in Crimea. It is better to visit this attraction in Nice weather, because bad weather had not be able to enjoy the surrounding nature, and it is simply gorgeous. We recommend you to visit.

  • Restoration is very slow. Winter-Spring-fall is practically not visited by. Rain sheds through a large portion of the premises.
