  • The Church is well preserved and is one of the oldest Orthodox churches of the Crimea. During the lifetime of the Crimean Khanate in XV-XVIII century it was turned into a mosque. In 1774 year Kerch became a part of the Russian Empire, and the Church has once again become orthodox temple. appeared early in the 19th century, the present name Temple: the Church of the beheading of John the Baptist.
