  • St. John the Baptist Church is located in the central part of the city, near the mountain Mitridat. One of the oldest temples of the Crimean peninsula and Europe. The temple is made of white stone in the Byzantine style, with bright sunshine of Kerch, looks especially majestic. Inside the temple there is a special atmosphere, friendly novice namolennosti. In the Church courtyard, one can see a Boulder with a deepening in the form of a human foot imprint. As the legend goes, this is the trail of John the Baptist. The temple has a long and uvlekael'nuju history, he has endured, was converted into a mosque during the time of the Crimean Khanate, and 1774 year regained the status of Orthodox shrines.
