Swallow's Nest, Gaspra
(4.4/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Perched right on the edge of a rocky cliff above the ocean, Swallow's Nest stands as one of the region's (and Ukraine's) most popular sights and most recognizable symbols. Originally built in 1912 by a wealthy German, the "castle" boasts ornate Neo-Gothic architecture. Visit the manor house and take a peek over the railing at the 40 m (130 ft) drop that descends directly into the Black Sea. Wander the grounds to take advantage of the panoramic view (the interior of the building is off-limits). Keep in mind that the hike from the parking lot to the structure is a long one, so wear comfortable shoes. Put Swallow's Nest into our Gaspra itinerary planner and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

  • The trip was a comprehensive-with the seafront of Yalta on the boat (30 minutes one way), on the banks of the 1:00. The rise of 200 steps-not very complex. The path of souvenir kiosks and views. And cats. Dozens of beautiful groomed cats! At least for the sake of them worth visiting this place, they create additional subjects for photos. And the swallow's nest-a tiny little Museum ...

  • Extremly interesting and unique. Ideal tourist destination except I found all signage and coversations in Russian with no possibility of explanations I requested during my visit. Requires much more promotion for travellers
