Perched right on the edge of a rocky cliff above the ocean, Swallow's Nest stands as one of the region's (and Ukraine's) most popular sights and most recognizable symbols. Originally built in 1912 by a wealthy German, the "castle" boasts ornate Neo-Gothic architecture. Visit the manor house and take a peek over the railing at the 40 m (130 ft) drop that descends directly into the Black Sea. Wander the grounds to take advantage of the panoramic view (the interior of the building is off-limits). Keep in mind that the hike from the parking lot to the structure is a long one, so wear comfortable shoes. Очень красивые виды вокруг Ласточкиного гнезда. Были в марте 2018 года. Погода стояла солнечная, но очень ветреная, поэтому насладиться видами долго не пришлось, что жаль. The castle itself is not very big, but still beautiful and dreamlike. Happy exploring even despite an uneasy climb back. The sea perfectly in any weather!
The Swallow's Nest or Love Nest is a decorative castle located at Gaspra, a small town between Yalta and Alupka, in Crimea. It was built between 1911 and 1912, on top of the 40-metre (130 ft) high Aur... more »

Swallow's nest is a small Gothic mansion, built in the year 1912 Baron Fabian Steinheil arrived. Its name derives from a dream house for the unusual location: the building is erected on the very edge of the Aurora cliff. But earlier in the 19 century, swallow's nest was called "Castle of love", House attracted attention, it was captured on his canvases Aivazovsky, Lagorio and Bogolyubov. It was a beautiful wooden mansion General hero of the Russo-Turkish war. Many owners changed here since that time. A mandatory place to visit in Crimea.
A place where an unforgettable memory is forged. A castle hanging from the cliff high above the sea. It's something beautiful for any townsman who's yet to experience some exotic sights. A great opportunity to see live dolphins in their natural environment too! Doesn't offer any tourist attractions besides the breathtaking sights though. Definitely a must-visit if you're already in Crimea.
"On second thought , let’s not go to the Swallow's Nest. ‘Tis a silly place." Really overrated.
Overcrowded tourist place! One of the Crimean symbols.
One of the most beautiful places in Crimea.
I was there in 2009. It is really stunning. I don't intend to return there in the future. I want to remember that place as Ukrainian !!!!
